As part of a management training programme, the TÜV Rheinland Academy received fifteen Chinese managers in May 2015 to take part in a diverse programme featuring a wide range of industries and management-related topics. For this group it was the area of quality management that proved especially interesting. A visit to the family-run business Voss Automotive was the successful kick-off for the group’s stay in Germany.
Michael Lauterbach, the Head of the Quality Division at Voss Automotive, described the visit from the management programme participants from China as a complete success. “We were especially interested not only in the chance to establish contacts with representatives of Chinese industry, but also the opportunity to share our different cultures and business experiences. This helped us to learn more about possibilities for working with China. Openly and constructively discussing these topics has helped us to continue moving our strategies in an international direction. We thank our Chinese colleagues for visiting our company.”
Dr. Stefan Otto (CEO of VOSS Automotive GmbH) was also grateful to have the opportunity to expand the group’s global network and to share strategies and guidelines for introducing a quality management system and exchange knowledge related to international vehicle and machine assembly in this setting. The importance of a quality management system for suppliers was emphasized to achieve a zero-tolerance goal: A fixed supplier selection process was presented that guarantees streamlined processes, minimizes costs and subsequently contribute to customer satisfaction.
