Shasenem Garlyyeva is a businesswoman through and through. With her two firms, she promotes business relations between Turkmenistan and Germany and contributes to bringing the cultures of the two countries closer together. She brings handmade home textiles made of camel hair into German living rooms. And in her own bakery, she will soon be delighting her fellow citizens with genuine German “Baumkuchen” layer cakes.

Sakhymurad Abdyrasulov – Stretch ceilings at reduced costs and in enhanced quality after management training

Sakhymurad Abdyrasulov is managing director of a small company that produces and installs PVC stretch ceilings. The system to cover ceilings is still largely unknown in Turkmenistan. Having become familiar with the technique in Russia, in 2007 Abdyrasulow decided to set up his own company based on the idea. He now employs a team of five and offers individual design consulting in addition to stretch ceilings in various finishes and colours. Continue reading
