Ethiopia

The German-Ethiopian Partnering in Business with Germany Programme prepares executives from Ethiopia specifically for business initiation and economic cooperation with German enterprises. Each year, around 20 Ethiopian executives take part in this practical training. They come from firms which have foreign trade potential that wish to establish contacts in Germany. The focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Under the motto Partnering in Business with Germany  the participants acquire management skills, gain insights into German business practices and establish contact with German enterprises, mainly medium-sized firms. The programme is aimed at managers and future managers, and at upper and middle management levels of Ethiopian enterprises and is generally open to all industries.

A Bilateral Agreement Between the Two Countries

Since 2019, Ethiopia has been a Partnering in Business with Germany Programme partner country. A corresponding government agreement exists between the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI). So far, 80 participants from Ethiopia have participated in the programme.
